Casa L

Rome/

/When the client showed this site and building for the first time, I immediately realized the high complexity and  commitment required to go through all different stages, from the concept and approval by the owners to the multiple submissions to local authorities (Landscape and Heritage dept., etc.) in order to plan a timeline and budget for the intervention.

Main idea has been that of focusing on the Medieval walls of the castle (where the building is located) and set the top "merli" - battlements - free from the wall portions belonging to the house. This process led us also to restore the ancient guard walkway by the battlements, with the implication of removing part of the existing roof and adding a glazed window, that would highlight the historical architecture.
